Matthew 18:1-5 About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is the greatest in God’s kingdom?” Jesus called a little child to come to him. He stood the child in front of the followers. Then he said, “The truth is, you must change your thinking and become like little children. If you don’t do this, you will never enter God’s kingdom. The greatest person in God’s kingdom is the one who makes himself humble like this child. “Whoever accepts a little child like this in my name is accepting me.

We’ve all heard of those word association tests. You say black, I say white. You say girl, I say boy. You say orange, I say juice. Okay, we all get that. Now, here’s a word association test for you. I say Bible, you say … what exactly?

There’s a theory going round in contemporary thinking today that “the Bible” is some old dusty book that only narrow-minded, religious fundamentalists would ever read. It’s a theory typically expounded by those who’ve never read it. According to them, it’s at best an outdated (and at worst, dangerous) book of rules for religious nutters. Well, let’s just check that out – just one quote, just one thing that Jesus said.

Does He sound like a religious nutter to you? Or is this pearl of wisdom about humility something that the world at large could benefit from? Sure, many of the things that God says in His Word, the Bible, are countercultural. They go against the grain of contemporary thought.

We behave as though that’s something new, as though the Bible just recently became out of date and irrelevant. But actually, it was because Jesus was countercultural, it was because He went against the grain of contemporary thinking, that they crucified Him.

The Bible. Rulebook for religious nutters, or God’s love letter to humanity? You decide.

That’s God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.

The Bible is the “I Am” God is whatever we need and the Bible is everything and never outdated and as time passes. Gods word is the I AM that we need at any time, day or moment .

Gods love letter to humility, definitely .

MATTHEW 5:11-12

“God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.
12 Be happy about it! Be very glad! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, the ancient prophets were persecuted in the same way.

The Bible is good. Absolutely a love letter to humility . Amen 🙏
