Colossians 3:15,16 Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking. It is for peace that you were chosen to be together in one body. And always be thankful. Let the teaching of Christ live inside you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Okay, so how do you actually experience the stillness, the calmness, the peace of God – which He absolutely wants you to do – when the hurly-burly of life constantly crashes over you like waves along a shoreline? How do you do that for real?

I’m a rubber-hits-the-road kind of guy. The reason our ministry is called “Christianityworks” is that Christianity either works, or it doesn’t. And if it doesn’t, let’s all go and do something else because we’re wasting our time.

So when God promises us His peace amidst strife (which He does time and again throughout the Bible) I believe with all my heart that we’re actually meant to lay hold of that peace in our day-to-day experience. And here it is …

Yes, let the peace of Christ control your thinking – literally reign in your heart. But how exactly? Here it is again:

Always be thankful – because, friend, gratitude for all that God’s done for you is an attitude that completely changes your perspective. It opens up your heart to allow the teaching of Christ to dwell inside you richly.

In other words, get the Word of God into you on a constant basis. Think about it, turn it over in your mind, feast on it. Allow others to teach and counsel you in godly wisdom and absolutely, sing a new song to God with a thankful heart.

That’s how to experience God’s peace day-to-day.

And that’s His God’s Word. Fresh … for you … today.
