DECEMBER Prayer Focus

How many people are distracted by these trapping of Christmas, from the coming of our Saviour into this world to save them from their sin?

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

Christianityworks has its Christmas and New Year specific programming locked and loaded, ready to share the Good News of Jesus with countless people around the world who might otherwise never hear of Him.

Now … it’s time to pray:

• • • Pray for the many people who will hear about Jesus through the ministry of Christianityworks. May their hearts be open. May they be ready to receive the Good News of Jesus. May countless lives be touched and transformed this month as people encounter their Saviour – some for the first time, others afresh and anew.
      .
    • Pray that strongholds in the hearts and the minds of sinners will be destroyed, that chains would be broken, that prisoners would be set free, that the many-splendoured love of God in Jesus Christ would so powerfully impact lives for His glory.
      .
    • Pray especially for the finances of Christianityworks which are critically tight in at the moment. The ministry really is in survival mode right now – so please pay that God’s people would give generously towards the New Beginnings Appeal so that together, we can go on proclaiming Christ to the nations.
      .
    • Pray for the four staff who have been made redundant this past month because the ministry no longer has the funds to keep them on. This is heartbreaking, but in light of financial constraints, unavoidable. May the Lord wrap His arms around them, comfort them, and use them mightily as He opens new doors for them to serve Him.

    • Pray for terrible events in Israel and the Gaza Strip as communities are being torn apart and the lives of innocent civilians (on both sides of the conflict) are being taken. May the Lord bring peace, may He bring vindication to His Chosen People in the Promised Land, and may He bring comfort and safety to those who are lost and hurting in all of this.

    • And as always please, continue to pray the prayer of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:10) again and again over Christianityworks …
      Oh Lord, that you would bless us indeed … with Your supernatural blessings, far beyond our expectations and natural abilities.
      
      That you would enlarge our territory … giving us more capacity, reach and impact, that more lives would be saved + transformed.
      
      That your mighty hand would be with us … so we would be wholly dependent on you, on your touch of greatness, not on ourselves.
      That you would keep us from evil that we would cause no pain … so that in holiness + love in all that we do, the name of Jesus would be glorified.
